CIA CHIEF WILSON BABANGIDA CONGRATULATES MUHAMMAD BABANGIDA ON HIS APPOINTMENT AS CHAIRMAN, BANK OF AGRICULTURE

I, Amb. Wilson Babangida Agboti, extend my heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Muhammad Babangida, the son of former Nigerian Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (Rtd), on his well-deserved appointment as the Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture.

This appointment is not only a significant milestone for Mr. Muhammad Babangida but also a strategic step by the Federal Government in its ongoing efforts to reposition key institutions that are critical to national development. The Bank of Agriculture plays a vital role in enhancing food security, empowering rural farmers, and fostering sustainable economic growth — and I am confident that under his chairmanship, it will experience a new era of impactful transformation.

On a personal note, this appointment is deeply symbolic and meaningful to me. The former Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida, was my father’s superior and Commander-in-Chief during my father's service as a young officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. My father held him in the highest regard — so much so that he named me Babangida in honor of this admiration. Interestingly, I was born on the very day General Babangida assumed office as Nigeria’s Military Head of State — a moment that forever bound my identity to a man my family deeply respects.

This development brings pride and inspiration, not just to those of us who share a historical and personal connection to the Babangida legacy, but to all who believe in youth leadership and continuity of excellence in public service.

I once again congratulate Mr. Muhammad Babangida, Lydia Kalat Musa (OGFZA), Sanusi Musa SAN (IPCR), and Prof. Al‑Mustapha Alhaji Aliyu (DTCA) who were named to lead various strategic bodies covering energy, peacebuilding, trade, and water resources, on this remarkable achievement and wish them wisdom, strength, and great success in this new national assignment.
