CIA Co-Founder and Chief Expresses Excitement over the launch of CIA-YEIMP ICT Scholarship in community in Ebonyi and Adamawa State

Abuja, Nigeria. 2nd April 2025

Words cannot fully express my excitement as we officially launch the CIA Youth Empowerment Initiative Master Plan (CIA-YEIMP) ICT Scholarship Program in Ebonyi State and Adamawa State, Nigeria. This initiative, which has been in development for over a year, was born out of the pressing gaps in our educational system and the urgent need to improve digital literacy across Nigeria. It was an idea welcomed and nurtured by the Board of trustees of the CIA who understands the importance and the critical need of cutting edge IT Skills in our youths and economic development.

CIA-YEIMP serves two core objectives:

  1. Youth Empowerment in Digital Skills
  2. Youth Employment and Career Advancement

Over the past year, my team and I have worked tirelessly, engaging in extensive consultations at the local, state, and national levels to refine and strengthen this initiative for maximum impact on beneficiaries and the wider community.

My personal motivation for this initiative stems from:

  1. The community that raised me – Song LGA, Adamawa State, Nigeria
  2. The enthusiasm and determination of the youth in Afikpo and Ebonyi State
  3. My love for ICT as a tool for Development.

Like many communities across Nigeria, young people deserve better opportunities, and I firmly believe that, together, we can equip them with the productive skills needed to shape a better future. I am hopeful that this initiative will make a significant impact, and I urge all stakeholders to support us in driving this transformative agenda.

Since the official launch of the scholarship in Adamawa and Ebonyi States, I have received an overwhelming number of calls and expressions of interest from technology experts, ICT hubs, and industry leaders offering their support and volunteer services for the program. This is truly commendable, and I extend my deepest gratitude to all who have stepped forward. It is inspiring to see so many individuals and organizations committed to the advancement of our country’s youth.

I am equally excited about the remarkable number of applications received so far. This response highlights the eagerness of our young people to embrace personal development and professional growth.

A heartfelt thank you to my incredible team—the Board of CIA, Advisory Council, Management, Ambassadors, and Members of the CIA Hub—for their unwavering dedication to CIA-YEIMP and all our ongoing programs and initiatives.

I also extend my profound appreciation to the governments of Ebonyi and Adamawa States, alongside various commissioners, local government chairmen, and district heads who have supported us throughout this journey.

Looking ahead, I am eager to collaborate with my alma mater, Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), formerly Federal University of Technology, Yola, and my Department of Information and Communications Technology to further strengthen this program’s impact.

To all scholarship beneficiaries and adhoc trainers—congratulations in advance!
